With our first year now behind us, FILMS ON TAP is looking for ways to improve our product, and deliver a show that is both informative and entertaining.
So, today, I’m asking for your help.
To be perfectly blunt, I started wondering if any of this is worth it. The constant search for content, the not-so-social media posts, the hours spent watching certain movies simply for the show, the Monday nights that are forever booked…
Don’t get me wrong: I don’t just love doing the show — THE FILMS ON TAP PODCAST has given me direction and a sense of purpose that I have been missing for awhile. Plus, it has brought three incredible people into my life; three friends that I consider to be brothers.
That said, I have been disappointed with our product as of late. All four of us love to talk about movies… and sports… and politics… and life, in general. However, in being the type of show that can go off in any direction, we seem to have lost our way a bit.
And, most importantly, we seem to have lost a lot of you.
The amount of time, money, and effort that Jim, Tim, and Chris put into the show (while leading actual adult lives) is more than I could ever ask for, and I am incredibly grateful for everything they do.
Unfortunately, it feels like their regular sacrifices are no longer paying off — both in terms of the overall quality of our show, and the previously strong connection to our audience.
Basically, without you guys, there is no FILMS ON TAP — and our current difficulty with expanding and growing our audience is, to be quite honest, deflating. This show, this crew, and every single one of you out there deserves something better.
It’s for that reason, and that reason alone, why I am writing this today.
THE FILMS ON TAP PODCAST wants to hear from YOU. While we have all been guilty of loving to hear ourselves talk, what we really need to hear now is feedback. Tell us your thoughts, tell us what you listen for, and tell us why you stopped. We have our own ideas, but help us create a better version of the show.
Thank you for your time, and thank you for listening.
A new episode is on the way soon.
